Bierstadt, Albert

Albert Bierstadt (1830 - 1902)

Bierstadt was born in Germany but emigrated to the US in 1832. He went back to Germany in 1853 to study in Dusseldorf before returning to America four years later. He specialized in Far Western landscapes such as 'The Rocky Mountains'.
